BEIJING SEGMENT of their CHINA TOUR

The Nite Owls contract Beijing International a year ago - and after confirming we both played "ice hockey" we said we'd more than welcome some games in Beijing against them. Their 2010 China Tour included games starting in Shanghai, then up to Nanjing and Harbin, and finishing with two games in Beijing. Lots of hockey and sight seeing, as well as some unexpected trips to hospitals in different cities for flu-like symptoms from either food or people. 

Having not won a game so far in China, Beijing selected age appropriate players and hit the ice. For Aussies they were pretty solid, and the 1st game was scoreless up until the 50-minute mark, then a goal a piece put the teams into OT. On the second shift, a stellar rush ended in the puck being slid through the 5-hole and Australia won their first game in China! 

Game 2: With the help of Beijing's secret weapon, "The Great Wall" - Beijing was victorious 5-2. "The Great Wall" influence is that the next two days after hiking The Wall, there's not much energy for rushing, back-checking, or even skating to the bench. A slower game, but just as much fun with the Nites losing steam in the 3rd period. 

Beijing thanks the Nite Owls for coming and hope to see them in Bangkok, China or down-under!
