2007-2008 Before Yoko's party, there was a meeting of the "executive": captains, commissioners, statisticians, secretaries, organizers, and a loud mouthed Finn. Over 2 hours we pounded out some key issues and here we would like to present them to the masses. LEAGUE VALUES: This is to be a FUN LEAGUE - with evenly strength teams as best as the organizers can determine. FEES:
3000rmb/player - Paid in advance - Non-refundable if you miss games. PLAYER REQUESTING TRANSFERS: If after 1 year, you would like to enter the "Draft" again, please contact your captain and request to become "a free agent". This will cost you 500rmb! The admin fee to cover the cost of your jersey that will be needed for your replacement. You will also need to pay for your new jersey... We want to keep player movements to a minimum. If your team is not fun - tell your team to improve their attitude - Become a leader on your team and guide it the way you think it should be. INFORMING YOUR CAPTAIN DEADLINE: JUNE 15th, 2007 - Executive reserve the right to manage all transfers to maintain balanced teams. PLEASE INFORM CAPTAINS IF YOU ARE LEAVING BEIJING - we want to know how many players are returning. Captains - please e-mail your teams to see who is returning and make sure they know about the Transfer Rule. NEW PLAYER AND DRAFT - All new players will have to practice before being placed on a team so that their skill level can be assessed. All new players and players requesting transfer will then be drafted in inverse order of last year's playoffs - 4th, 3rd, 2nd then 1st - and repeating. PLAYERS PER TEAM - We are hoping to have 4 teams of 15 players + a goalie. If we exceed this, then more ice-time will be needed, budget will be screwed up, and we will need to have a 6 team league... SCHEDULE - We are currently looking at a 27 or 30-game season. August 30th - April 19th LEAGUE PLAY - Next year we will use the clock, have a scorekeeper, refs etc... Stats may or may not be kept - TBD GUEST PLAYERS - Guests are allowed to play 2 league games - but cost 100rmb/game. No more than 1 guest per team per game - with agreement of other team, more may be permitted but if someone brings two friends, then the second must play for the other team. We are trying to be inclusive and encourage players from Shanghai, Dalian, Kunming, Bangkok, Tokyo, Dubai to bring their gear if they come to Beijing - This is a FUN LEAGUE - NO GUESTS IN PLAYOFFS PLAYOFF FORMAT - 1 day tournament - like this year - Schedule to be posted well in advance so you can plan your vacation around it. AGE LIMIT: 17-YEARS - This is an Adult League - with adult conversations on and off the ice - Many of our players are teachers who are "roll models" and they feel that professionally, their reputation is hurt when their students are on the ice with them. PRACTICES: Yoko & Mike will continue to run independent practices - cost for this ice-time will be separate from the League. IMPORTANT
